...AND I'm salty that years of organizing are essentially being erased in this update. Boulder's co-op ordinance and occupancy fights have burned through a shameful number of everyday activists. And this confirms just how much of their lives we wasted.

It's deeply satisfying to see those 8 pages of regulations red-lined out of existence...

Boulder 'legalized' housing cooperatives in 2017, but the rules were so restrictive that only one new co-op was ever formed under them. Groups of unrelated people already sharing housing had to compile book-length documentation and pay heavy fees for the privilege of recognition.
