when the man breaks the girl’s egg, she chases after him, and in her grief trips and falls into a ravine’s watery grave. there’s this beautiful elaborate scene that plays right as she hits the water’s surface; her reflection is not of herself, but the adult version of her.

my work friend and I had a convo about it and somewhere in that convo she says “there’s one scene where I immediately knew why you love this film.” and when I ask her to tell me she says “the moment the girl discovers the man destroyed her egg and her crying out in despair” and I’m like.

i feel like everything is so obvious

I am in genuine despair because what I wanted to do as my day job (design, web, etc.) is now basically moot. genuinely can’t wait until it all falls apart and then they come crawling back to those of us with the actual technical know-how.
