There are 11 federal holidays. It’s taken us 249 years to rack them up. If we held steady, then assuming there are currently 260 working days per year, it would take us ‘til around the year of our lord c.2992 BCE for us to obtain 1 federal holiday per each working day. It’s quite soon! Very soon!

I’ve noticed over time that when queer, city-dwelling adults do this, more often than not what’s really occurring is that they’re venting pent-up frustrations with “home.” The grand bulk of us in this country were raised in rural and suburban areas of the Midwest and South after all. Red areas.
