So we should also be reducing and eliminating the mercury emissions from Wood burning Power Stations, as they produce about the same amount that crematoria does?

Wood burning need to be phase out.

A home battery or EV is better for power cuts.
Not recommended to use wood burning stoves in high winds.

Personally I don't think wood is sustainable because it takes years to grow.

Yes, wood burning is essential for some. Gov should help those people.

Air quality has decreased because of improvements in road transport and energy.

The proposal was dropped because the Scots Tories lied.
They made out it was banning all wood burning stoves.
It wasn't. It was a ban for new builds and conversions.
Except there was also provision to install a WB stove for emergency use.
Oil isn't worse. It's better.

Wood burning CANNOT play a part, because it pollutes the air.

If you install new modern wood burning stoves in new builds instead of gas boilers, then the air will be more polluted.

Heat pumps are at least 300% efficient. Wood burning is only 80%.
So even if all electricity came from gas, it would still emit much less CO2 than wood burning.
