Today we honour the service and sacrifice of all those that have defended our freedoms and protected our way of life. The stories of those who served should never fade. We remember them. We honour them. 🌹

Throughout October, my team and I have tackled issues with housing, road safety and Universal Credit, and worked closely with Enveco, Highways, Blackpool Council and others to ensure constituents of Blackpool South are supported. 🤝

Really proud to share this personal note from the Prime Minister following months of work pushing for new Typhoon orders.

This is more than just a defence deal – it’s jobs, skills and livelihoods here on the Fylde Coast, across Lancashire and the UK.

I was pleased to reaffirm my support for WASPI Campaign's women in Parliament this week. 1950s-born women have waited long enough for justice. Ahead of December’s High Court hearing, I urge Ministers to deliver fair compensation to all those affected.

This money is on top of the £2.86 million I secured earlier this year to tackle homelessness and rough sleeping in 2025/26 – £877,000 of which was for drug and alcohol treatment. It’s part of the Labour Government’s £84 million national package announced today, on World Homeless Day.

Today marks the start of Black History Month, an important time to celebrate the Black community here in Blackpool and beyond.

This year’s theme, ‘Standing Firm in Power and Pride’, is a powerful tribute to the commitment to progress that defines the Black community across the globe.

As the English Devolution and Community Empowerment Bill enters Committee stage, I welcome this landmark legislation – a transformative opportunity for my home county of Lancashire to gain greater autonomy, boost economic growth and strengthen public services.

The Hillsborough Law makes honesty and accountability the rule for every public servant. It puts a legal duty of candour in place – no more cover-ups, no more excuses. Those who mislead the public or refuse to cooperate with investigations will face criminal sanctions.

Labour is delivering the biggest upgrade to workers’ rights in a generation.

For too long, working people have been denied the security, dignity and fairness they deserve. Labour is changing that.

We’re putting workers first and building a Blackpool and Britain that works for everyone. 🌹

Today is Emergency Services Day, and I want to highlight the amazing hard work of emergency services here in Blackpool and right across the country.

From our firefighters, police officers and ambulance crews, to the RNLI and NHS staff, and all those who step up when we need them most.

As the new school year begins, I’m reflecting on the incredible schools I’ve had the privilege of visiting across Blackpool South over the last academic year. Meeting teachers, dedicated classroom staff, school leaders and the young people themselves is truly one of the best parts of being your MP.

Phase 3 of the Million Hours Fund is now open – a £19 million investment from the Department for Culture, Media & Sport and The National Lottery Community Fund to give young people more positive things to do, especially in areas facing higher levels of anti-social behaviour.

Last week, my constituency office and I supported many people across Blackpool South. We acted swiftly on a safeguarding concern that required an immediate response and addressed a licensing enforcement case involving an empty property with a severe pest infestation.

Since Labour came into power, interest rates have been cut five times in a row – a real boost for families and businesses across the country.

Last month, we’ve helped a resident receive their Civil Service pension, written to address the lack of NHS dentists, and liaised with a constituent following an e-scooter complaint.

Throughout July, my team and I have continued to work hard to support people across Blackpool South. We’ve now supported over 8,500 cases since I was elected last year.🗼
