There was a time it was true - and for a period worked effectively for the people it was supposed to - that is until it started helping ‘everyone’ and that wasn’t allowed so they’ve been systematically dismantling it ever since

Police were built to protect businesses/land owners on the streets, courts built to protect them in them everywhere

Hell… if they wanted to be real cheap about it and just pay the SNAP themselves, it would be only $62 Million. 0.3% of their profit. Wild.

That’s the irony - I could see this result in a bunch of those voters saying … job done and ‘I don’t have to worry about voting now because none of those illegals can vote anymore, we did it’ hahahaha

You’re trying really hard to make a point when you really shouldn’t. If Wrob went to the ground in pain and then they cheered… you might be on to something.

What’s painful is that the tariffs are going to increase prices, not just on imported goods, but domestic as well because corporations are bound to take advantage by increasing their prices, using the tariffs as cover.

Years of having to deal with nonsense has prepared us to assume the weakest possible reactions to obvious, bad faith actions.

“Many have interpreted as”

It’s actually “many have interpreted” - I read it the same as you initially and had the same reaction. This is a bit stronger but I don’t see the need for hedging.

They should import some to account for the shortfall… oh wait….

I kind of want him to get signed so that he can get absolutely dominated

Yup - his plan is to cut all federal funding, expect States to fill the gaps on essential projects/programs and then funnel every federal dollar into the military and toward his buddies

They will still get the support/resources they need because congress will respond to make sure they do. This just creates the opportunity for them to ignore the states they don’t want to help. State based strategies rather than federal mechanisms allows them to pick and choose. It’s ugly.

Memo to all: It doesn’t matter who commits violence or who it is against. What matters is what the violence was being done for. You can attack a politician and/or cop if it’s in service of Trump. You can attack a civilian, if the goal aligns with the agenda.

I guess he takes the saying ‘unwashed masses’ as very literal?????

It’s because they had 4 years to assess why it didn’t go as planned and are prepared to take advantage.

They should have let moderates/conservatives rally for her on their own as a backlash campaign against Trump rather than sitting her onstage with Cheney for a month. If she leaned into progressiveness while the middle rallied itself against Trump - it would have worked better.

Yup - she tried hard to have a broad appeal, did not end up with a clear identity, so R’s could say whatever they wanted about her. Those that wanted to believe she was too progressive, could. Those that felt she was too moderate could. Which means support on both sides could be undermined.
December 21, 2024 at 4:42 PM
They operated under the assumption her progressive bonafides and support were locked in (they weren’t) so she could ignore them and court moderate conservatives and progressives would understand what she was trying to accomplish. It left her without a clear identity so R’s gave her one.
