Well she sleeps like a baby like this for starters.

It’s nearly midnight. Read @tomnicholas.bsky.social Atlantic article while my dog begs for more fetch. Because despite threats to democracy, she is a cocker spaniel and needs a LOT of games. Come on mom. Throw the stuffie again.

“That said, it has become pretty evident that secularism has not been able to fill what has been called the “God shaped hole” in American life. Because the quest for spirituality and meaning is deeply human.”

Not a care in the world. While I read Ministers of Propaganda by @scottmcoley.bsky.social and catch up on alarming Federal overreach this week… the cocker spaniel snoozes like a baby next to me.

I just sent an email to the nearly 400 people coming to Columbus or watching online Who is my Neighbor? Summit on Immigration, Springfield & the Church.

Grateful so many Christians are asking how they can come alongside their immigrant neighbors this #MLK weekend.

And the spaniel sleeps

Yesterday I hosted a random dinner party of 8 people who didn’t know one another. It was wonderful. Then a brunch this morning with 3 friends, two of whom mentor the other two of us. Fed my brother and sobrinos leftover curry tonight and now settling in for alone time. Meals, connection, & magic.

This was my first Christmas without my mom. We were okay. Parkinsons is terrible. Mom’s years of mental health struggles were tough. I’ll miss her. Grateful for the resurrection and redemption that Christmas promises.
