Fortunate dad. Fond of good books, nice people. And science.
Shhhhh! He'll hear you!

McConnell was super polite as he laid turn after turd on democracy.

Gemini summation of the NFL's response:
"The league's legal team argues that there is no 'general right to access information' on a specific platform and that fans cannot use antitrust law to compel the NFL to post content on Bluesky."
Again, it seems there's no attempt at compelling, just allowing

Interesting. Hadn't seen this. Love this bit from one of the counterarguments:
"Third, the league could maintain it can’t be forced to provide content on any platform."
Except no one's trying to force them to do anything. They're trying to ensure teams can opt for Bluesky, not be forced to stay away

Great. Now I won't be able to sleep tonight.

Super easy way to increase sports engagement, for those worried there's not enough on Bluesky (I'm not one), is to use deck.blue, Bluesky's Tweetdeck-like feed (which, unlike X, is free). Create a sports column (or whatever) and put your people there.

Yeah, nothing quite like doing the physical equivalent of channel surfing at Kim's Video for an hour to find something you might want to see that's actually in stock. Good times.

"thick-rimmed shits" will definitely be the best thing I'll read today

😂 "begs the question" my favorite part of this response

Thanks for sharing. I hadn't seen that. It sucks that it's jarring instead of the norm to see people act with bravery and compassion in political office.

Hated going to FB, but thanks for this. Good stuff.

Love that they’re going for it here

They are at the start of a three-hour brainstorming session on how to respond to this post.

zero reason for apology. It’s a great movie. (Just returned from seeing One Batyle After Another, which was excellent)
