The key to the 2024 election was voter disaffection with the Tories. Starmer's vote share in his own constituency decreased by 16% compared to 2019. Labour’s vote share was historically low, as shown below. The huge majority gives a misleading impression.

Just one poll, but the Labour trend line has been on a downward trajectory for some time. This is the lowest they have ever polled. Their support amongst younger people in particular has collapsed. Their answer? Crack down more on migrants & protestors.

The U.K. has been here before, so there are clearly solutions to this. It’s not just about cutting public spending, especially for the most vulnerable, as some on the right would have us believe.

Indeed, I live in the Cotswolds and many of the villages are like this. Would welcome some diversity!
