As a fellow grad student (and I’m working on my first Scoping review now) I totally get how hard this is to do!
Awesome job! 🤩

I used to think it would be, until I realized the main reason to “dislike downtown Toronto” is actually entering and exiting Toronto from elsewhere…. Once you’re in downtown it is lovely!
Once we started taking the Go train from Guelph instead of driving, we love downtown!

Ah that makes sense - thanks for clarifying! Will double check ours for carbon filters… we have different types so I think some of them do and others don’t

Possibly silly question - Is an air cleaner just another term for an air purifier? We have multiple HEPA air purifiers around the house, I assume they will help with the smoke too…or is there something else we should be doing?

Those are the two main ones, but there are some others that are more locally advertised but open to wider participation, that are worth checking out, including:

-U of Calgary’s Conference on Postsecondary Learning and Teaching
-U of Guelph’s Teaching and Learning Innovation (TLI) conference

Anything that Tamora Pierce had ever written - Wonderful YA fantasy with rich characters and awesome female leads!

For her Tortall books (her longest series) start with Alanna:The First Adventure (a girl dresses up as a boy to become a knight, has magic, is badass, has pet cat)

The most important part of my desk set up of course, is my “cat trap” which is where Nikko (my direct supervisor) spends most of his days while I work from home.

Heated cat bed + old IKEA lamp that gets quite warm = Very cozy kitty spot!

*Finally* realized that trying to “remember” to move the keyboard back to the front of my desk was just NEVER going to work well; so I got myself a clamp-on keyboard tray, and I’m so pleased!

Space to write, keyboard always in the right spot, and less chance of cat-stepping-on-keyboard! Perfect!
