this dude right here has it's top leaf curled up to tight it makes the *worst* squeaking, scratching sound when it opens up. and he's been doing that very slowly... driving me insane!

basque style "burnt" cheesecake but i took the burnt part to literal and it's definitely charred in places 😬 but it's still perfectly edible if you pic off the burnt bits. oh, well...

continuing my trend of badly taken food pic on here: i made herring salad without fish for ash wednesday. the "herring" bits are actually aubergine that are surprisingly convincing fish-like tbh

one of the things i've wanted to do this year is actually learning to cook. so: i made a really good red lentil chickpea curry this week and just discovered that the leftovers taste amazing on toast with eggs (also discovered this whole passive boiling thing for eggs and it's amazing. no cracks!!)
