Just submitted the full manuscript for that book I keep posting about, Masquing Blackness in The Tempest: Shakespeare, Caliban, and Jonson.
This thing has been 4+ years in the making, and submitting it is surreal. Of course there will be revisions but holy shit. It exists.

Also, because I needed a break from the darkness (and because I'm hard up against the submission deadline for this book), I wrote the dedication today. I lost two mentors over the course of writing this book, and I know in my bones that this work was for, because, and in celebration of them.

Ok so I’m a writer, and sometimes that makes me cry (because writing is HARD) but it’s never made me cry like this.
Current book project is about anti-racist efforts in post-2020 productions of The Tempest (which is a REAL problematic play that was REAL popular in 2021/2)
