On the fourth anniversary of the Twin Parks apartment fire, thinking of those who lost loved ones in the terrible tragedy and about the work ahead to demand safer housing conditions and increased investments in housing for Bronx residents.
Four years ago New York City lost 17 neighbors to a preventable fire in the Twin Parks complex.
Today we stand with friends and family in a moment of reflection and recommit to preventing tragedies like this by building a safer, more accountable city.

I am deeply disturbed by the news out of Minneapolis that a woman was murdered by ICE. My deepest condolences to the victim’s loved ones.
In Minneapolis and across the country, people are less safe because of ICE. The entire organization should be dismantled and abolished.
