Are you talking about when it overtopped and flooded the nearby Johnson Shut-ins State Park? That was back in the 2000s. Think it was 2007?

I didn’t get out of it. Wish I had. Hung an American flag at the campsite and signed a copy of the Declaration of Independence as the closest I got. Heard a bagpiper play “Coming to America” in the distance while there.

While true, this doesn’t help the rest of us. The best we can do is band together to minimize harm. While true that it might help us in the next life to suffer peacefully, there is a boundary between the two worlds that makes it so we must help ourselves as much as those around us.

@pbsnews.org is still the best bet on this, at least as it pertains to government generally. They’ll have biases associated with major sponsors, so be cognizant of that and listen for the disclaimer.

And after I wrote that, I realized I had made a fail at listening and comprehension. The person who said that the Nat guard should be sent to the 8 states with the highest homicide rate was from a liberal network of media, not conservative.
