Good answer. I remember watching part of it on TV as a kid. I was a fan of the album and knew the movie had bombed. I don't remember how far I got, but I didn't last too long.

I actually didn't really connect with this film when I watched it for the first time about a year ago. But I've enjoyed other Mann Westerns (also recently "discovered" by me) and thought this one might bloom on second view, especially in 4K. Here's hoping.

I was just sending a Christmas wish list to my mom (she requested it), and I put the Criterion 4K of WINCHESTER '73 on it. I encouraged her to wait until Friday, when Barnes & Noble's half-off Criterion sale is rumored to start. And having "saved" her $25, I added a book to my wish list!
