Respecting the rules of war is not a choice, it is a legal and moral obligation for all parties to armed conflicts.

When these rules are ignored, civilians are the ones who endure the most horrendous consequences.

With 12 million people displaced internally and in neighboring countries, Sudan has become - in the last 2 years of war - the largest displacement crisis in the world.

More respect of the basic rules of war+respite for civilians! More attention/support: urgently needed. @ICRC
Today we released a report on the dire humanitarian crisis in Sudan, with the conflict approaching its two-year mark on April 15.

Disregard for the rules of war and reduced humanitarian funding risk worsening the situation.
