Our #throwback video is typical Toto: fun-loving, active and playful – on land. Water is another matter. He often refuses the mud bath entirely, or ventures only a toe. Interestingly, Vaarti shares the same reluctance – and both were rescued in remarkably similar circumstances: swt.bio/toto

When he was rescued, Toto was frightened and alone. He arrived at our Kaluku Neonate Nursery in poor condition, requiring round-the-clock care, but even then with a big personality! Today, he’s one of the most steady and nurturing elephants.

Toto has brought joy and chaos in equal measure — like this moment, where he keeps purposefully collapsing on the mattress Joseph is trying to move. From a mystery rescue to a little elephant with big bravado, Toto’s story is only just beginning.

give a thought to the bigger picture.

Nature is coming for them.
Time is eating them.
History will give them what they've earned.

In the forests of Southern Madagascar, three frog species were discovered in 2019 that represent the very lower limit of vertebrate size: < 9 mm long.

The genus was named "Mini", and the three species are:
Mini mum
Mini ature
Mini scule

An ant crosses your carpet. A spider weaves a pattern older than mammals beneath your stairs. Just nod, breathe, and think, “Good. It’s all still here. The forest, the mountains, the desert. At home in my home.” The sterile white box is the stranger. Not the ant. Not the spider.
