It’s one thing to teach theory and techniques, but it’s something else entirely to see students connect with the material in their own ways—whether it’s navigating the tone shifts between Chinese and English news writing or rethinking adaptation as a space of interpretation and resistance.

Caught the 4K restoration of #WongKarWai’s In the Mood for Love #花樣年華 at Toronto’s oldest independent cinema, the Fox Theatre (est. 1914)! Recently, I also wrote two encyclopedia entries on #LiuYichang’s #劉以鬯 fiction, The Drunkard and “Intersection,” which inspired this film’s haunting beauty.
