This lucky poet has two books coming out this fall/winter. First up is my chapbook from Bottlecap Press, Before The World Was On Fire. It's about growing up in the 60's and 70's, and being an old gal in the 20's. And how you get through everything with the power of the word.

Hi, Bluesky poets and writers! I'm poetry editor at the venerable Eclectica Magazine, one of the 'net's first 'zines. General submissions for poems are just about filled up for the autumn issue, but if you've got something really good, why not shoot it our way? www.eclectica.org

Did you know? Rockland County, NY, has more poets than you would believe. We have so many poets that poetry even poets it up in the Rockland County Business Journal--because poetry is the business of life. This month's column stars poet/creativity coach Mary Jo Lillian. Happy August!

This is beyond cruel, especially for young folks who are going through it. Cutting off LGBTQ+ youth from specialized suicide prevention help is a death sentence disguised as bureaucracy.

Shame on every official who signed off on this. You’re not protecting children, you’re abandoning them.

Still processing the loss of Brian Wilson. May he go with God. His hits with the Beach Boys were inescapable--and stunning. His NYT obit identifies someone else I love, Judee Sill, as a fan. She, too, had an often-tragic life. She created this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=40O8...

Ken and I didn't make it to the noontime demo at Four Corners. A big tree blew down and took out the wires near our house. But despite the weather, local patriots stood up for democracy as they do weekly in Nanuet. Link to next week's demo in the comments--and yeah, Lawler, I'm waiting, too!
