This lucky poet has two books coming out this fall/winter. First up is my chapbook from Bottlecap Press, Before The World Was On Fire. It's about growing up in the 60's and 70's, and being an old gal in the 20's. And how you get through everything with the power of the word.

Hi, Bluesky poets and writers! I'm poetry editor at the venerable Eclectica Magazine, one of the 'net's first 'zines. General submissions for poems are just about filled up for the autumn issue, but if you've got something really good, why not shoot it our way? www.eclectica.org

Hey, we're busy reading POEMS over at Eclectica Magazine. Our Autumn issue comes out around October 1. How about trying our WORD CHALLENGE? Include the words Curio, Cider, Foil, & Dolorous in a poem of any style, and send it to us through our WORD CHALLENGE portal. No reading fee!

Did you know? Rockland County, NY, has more poets than you would believe. We have so many poets that poetry even poets it up in the Rockland County Business Journal--because poetry is the business of life. This month's column stars poet/creativity coach Mary Jo Lillian. Happy August!

Ken and I didn't make it to the noontime demo at Four Corners. A big tree blew down and took out the wires near our house. But despite the weather, local patriots stood up for democracy as they do weekly in Nanuet. Link to next week's demo in the comments--and yeah, Lawler, I'm waiting, too!

In the cold rain outside Thayer Gate at West Point this morning, a determined band of patriots let the draft-dodger in the White House know what they thought of him speaking at West Point's Commencement. The signs say "Go Army, Defeat Fascism." Proud of my friend Nancy for representing.

Unity, Sunset, Spoon, & Moss: Use all four words in a poem, have some fun, and send it to us. Free submission, Eclectica is always free to read--good poems and literature, one of the oldest online lit mags--AND we're still reading for the summer issue in the main poetry section, too. electica.org

Spent the afternoon judging The Mary Ruffin Poole American Heritage Award out of North Carolina. I was delighted and honored to serve and I feel uplifted, as I always am, by poetry. A valuable thing these days.

This is for real. If you can do a street protest, find one here. I'l include the Newsweek link to all the meetup locations in comments. Wednesday noon.

Ken and me, demonstrating why street protests are not the wisest for us: we're pretty old. HOWEVER, @resist.bot is an excellent way to elevate your displeasure at the ongoing coup. It'll send letters to all your reps in seconds, free! Use it every day!! Try it.
