Whoa! I tripped over this one earlier today while spelunking through the web, after seeing a post from @closetotheedge.bsky.social. It sounds gooood!

Hmm. Very interesting. And hard to find. One of those "unauthorized releases" that Discogs won't allow to be sold via their service. I've got a white LP jacket, with the disk inside, that I bought back in 1970. Haven't listened to it in a few years...

G’morning, fellas. It’s 3:47 AM, here, but, at my age I get to wake up for brief periods of rumination each night. Happy to see you all here. I’ll be having coffee with a local pal, by the pond, a little later.
A sliver of dark, reflective water lies at the bottom of the photo, a similarly slim line of grassy bank above its upper left two thirds, with small, bushy trees on the right, and, farther back and to the left, again, an uneven row of taller, darker green, oaks. Above all of that, a distant line of bright white cotton puff clouds appears behind the oaks, then a bright blue band of sky, with a scattering of smaller, closer, and somewhat thinner clouds.

There may be an expressway right behind you, but I’m choosing to think of it as a relatively quiet place. ❤️ My own timeline includes regular stops for coffee at the side of a pond, which is very sweet to visit, but which is just downhill from six lanes of suburban traffic.

I get it. A few years ago I tracked down and purchased a mint copy of one of my mom's jazz records that had deeply impressed me when I was eight or nine years old. It is precious to me, as she passed away in 1986, and I have only a couple of keepsakes from her, besides my sweet, sweet memories.

I continue to be amazed at the way the world presents me with opportunities to enjoy music that I'd have otherwise missed out on. Thanks, Chris, for bringing me back into the loop on Stereolab's 1996 album, "Emperor Tomato Ketchup."

I found this mentioned in the front pages of David Toop's 1995 book, "Oceans of Sound." I am only a few minutes into it, and I already love it deeply. It's like an old friend I've just met. Meditative, pulsing, dark, mysterious, alive.

The most amazing evening sky I have seen in a while. Spring is definitely here in north central Georgia.
High, thin clouds, like a lace veil spread by the wind, glowing as the sun, near white down toward the horizon, shading to a deep pink at the zenith, with a dark green fringe of evergreen foliage at the bottom and the right edge.

Another north central Georgia dawn. Twenty seconds later, it was gone.
The yellow-orange-red glow of a mid-winter dawn streams into a suburban Georgia strip of mixed oak and pine woods, highlighting tree trunks and the last dry leaves still hanging on the branches.

I have been listening to Mahler’s 5th Symphony, written a year after a near death experience, and a search turned up this:
