I got back to my office after the vote last night and recorded this. There's no way to sugarcoat what happened. And my fear is that Trump gets stronger, not weaker, because of this acquiescence. I'm angry - like you. But I choose to keep fighting.

The Tuesday election was a message to Democrats to keep fighting. People are scared at what Trump is doing to their lives and our democracy. And they desperately want the opposition party to stand up to him, not willingly get run over.

As people go onto the health care enrollment websites, and see that Trump has doubled their premium, the pressure on Republicans to fix this will mount. This isn't get easier for Republicans. It's getting harder.

Protecting people's health care is worth fighting for. Stopping our health care system from going into a death spiral is worth fighting for. People want Democrats to stand for something.

Hey I just got to Miami with @smith.senate.gov @warren.senate.gov because South Florida is going to be hit harder by Trump’s health care cost increases than any other part of the nation. We are here to hear stories from the people whose lives will be ruined and want us to FIGHT for them.
