historians have proposed a new delineator of prehistory: before robot dog toy (BRDT) and after robot dog toy (ARDT). under this system, 2002 would be 2-ARDT. so you are correct, it isn’t ancient, but it’s close

so yes, there is a distinction. it’s just that nobody appears to have told the liberal democrats that there is one lol. so trading on that distinction, as you are here, is - as i said - disingenuous
November 8, 2025 at 9:41 AM
there is not necessarily anything inherent in being socially liberal that makes it so one has to be a neoliberal, nobody is saying that. what’s being said is that the liberal democrat party demonstrably are neoliberals
November 8, 2025 at 9:39 AM
absolutely
November 8, 2025 at 9:31 AM
so while the poster can make a case for the lib dems not being at particular fault in this one specific case, acting like there’s really a huge difference between “real liberalism” and the neoliberalism being criticised is pretty disingenuous
November 8, 2025 at 9:30 AM
yeah but the liberal democrats *are* economically neoliberal, so while the distinction is real, it’s not really exactly that relevant here
