Help to buy should be called ‘help to sell’. It artificially inflated house prices.

Trump using similar extrajudicial tactics as Duterte may well end up with the same result.

That’s what the press and many people fail to emphasise- the impacts of climate change are ALWAYS local, and always personal. There are not abstract events on distant shores but coming to you, at work, school, and at home.

4c by 2100 is the ‘plausible worst case scenario’ but in reality given our track record thus far it may turn out to be optimistic. Governments are unprepared which means that people will suffer unnecessarily.

Your statement today about revoking the climate change act is embarrassing, scientifically illiterate and displays real arrogance. What exactly will your conservative government conserve? Profits at a great cost to us all? Your party need to rethink or it will become irrelevant.

Trump building a Ball Room whilst just a few hundred yards away homeless people will freeze to death in winter is exactly what is wrong with society, particularly in America. Albert Speer would have worked for Trump and the design would be quite similar to what is proposed.

It’s what he is doing with that power, the unconstitutional things, that are the problem but Steve knows that really. Don’t be like Steve

And don’t give it to anyone else, just phase all the meaningless titles out.

Trump thinks he’s in some way won, in fact he has just put another nail in his country’s coffin as a superpower. China is making huge strides in climate change minimisation and adaptation whereas America is being left behind- a coal burning dinosaur that will trump will leave to drown and burn.

Why do politicians keep getting these things so wrong?
October 17, 2025 at 5:04 PM
History will not judge this period well. It’s a kind of cult of self delusional hysteria- they think k if they say something it suddenly manifests itself as truth. Of course it is not and time is not their friend.

I wish I had taken the time to draft it properly now

I hope that someone is keeping account of how all the money being spent to rebuild Gaza is being spent because I would hazard a guess that a lot of it could end up in offshore accounts rather than in building new hospitals, schools, water supplies. and other critical infrastructure.

The tone is disturbing.
