I recently made a trip to the New England Peace Pagoda in Massachusetts. What a fascinating space of religious pluralism that combines indigenous nations sacred objects with Buddhism and extreme non-violence and anti-nuclear activism.

Proud to be a part of this. It was great canvassing for Mamdani and meeting and talking with my neighbors. Looking forward to continuing to support Zohran!

Also, I highly suggest balancing out your reading these day. I’m adding Korean healing fiction to my otherwise terrifying religious nationalism roster. Feel free to send book recommendations for both genres.

I’m getting included in a lot of Buddhist circles, which is not always the case but I’m very excited. Here is a photograph from Saranpur (modern day Bihar) of an itinerant Buddhist monk from a colonial archive of photographs located at the British Library.

Working on the colonial history of the Gorakhnath sthan (now called temple) in Gorakhpur and came across this amazing picture of a Muslim Jogi from in my research files.
