The most consistent finding? People support helping their own citizens affected by climate change way more than providing international aid. Also, both higher wealth AND emissions increase support for mitigation policies suggesting different psychological drivers for different policies (3/3)

We found that in the UK, people who believe their nation has greater historical responsibility for climate change showed stronger support for climate aid. But in our fictional nation experiment, wealth was the stronger predictor. Real vs. hypothetical contexts matter. (2/3)

This has implications for policymakers and organisations working to advocate for diversity conservation. Instead of relying on economic arguments, appealing to the inherent value of diversity may lead to more effective and enduring concern for diversity. 6/6
