Absolutely - last vampire: the masquerade session, my ventrue character got everything he ever wanted, proceeded to publicly and completely f**k it up, watched his dreams disappear and decided to just run away. It hit home on some big "ME" emotions...

Agreed. We simply have to develop our own continental tech infrastructure, based on common standards, interoperating with AWS and the like. While we're at it, I feel like a non-Meta-owned European encrypted messaging service would also be sensible... (👋🏼 WhatsApp)

I think doing so could necessitate a reorientation of the House of Commons chamber from two opposing banks to a horseshoe. Architecture that emphasises collaboration, not combat.

I'm certainly enjoying positive news companies like RocaNews and the Fix the News newsletter, but perhaps it's a survival mechanism - people want to be aware of problems so they can either avoid or fix them. Unfortunately it's easy for outrage to become the dominant emotion...

I believe in public ownership of the assets. But I also believe that a competitive market of contractors should bid to manage them. This model works well in France and Germany (although more of Germany is directly publicly administered).

Great work everyone. I spoke to a German water board worker last month who couldn't believe we allow private companies to own all our infrastructure. In Germany, private companies only maintain the assets, don't own them.
