Now seems as good a time as any to mention that women still cannot be ordained as Catholic priests. Not sure why so many women still follow an institution that explicitly considers them to be second-class citizens.

Started 1-2 at RC Minneapolis but rallied all the way back to 7-2 to make day 2. Lots of bad matchups and mulligans today but still happy about my third RC day 2 in a row. Omni was an incredible deck, have absolutely loved playing it and hoping I’ll be able to again.

Design reflection: because of power creep on cheap creatures, expensive creatures/planeswalkers now have to be extra powerful to compete in constructed formats. The unfortunate effect of this is that they tend to be unbeatable bombs in limited.

Imagine posting something on social media and then getting upset or disabling comments when someone disagrees with you. Nothing more off putting than when someone spouts their opinions but can’t take anyone else’s.

Both Trump and Musk benefit from people who believe they reached their positions of power through merit rather than nepotism and greed. When they do something that seems crazy on its face, people give them the benefit of the doubt because they’re “successful.” Surely there must be a deeper plan!

Would really love to see a stronger Soul Warden effect in Standard (maybe even the OG itself). If you’re not going to ban the broken aggro stuff, at least give us better lifegain to make creature decks more playable.

The more I think about how nothing got banned in Standard the more ridiculous it seems to me. You have an aggro deck that is capable of killing on turn three regularly that just invalidates blocking. Who really thinks that that is a good play pattern to have in the lowest power-level format?

Additionally, scheduling once-a-year bans right before rotation, and then using “well we want to see what rotation does” as an argument *not* to ban things in the past doesn’t leave me with a lot of confidence that the window will be well used in the future.

It has to be said, Standard is starting to get stale. The mice triumvirate and Monstrous Rage are so good that they keep a lot of other stuff from being viable. Would be such a better format if something was banned from it.
