Er….. Really?
I was here in December 2017. I breathed the cold and the grey. Each year at this time I am taken back. I hope that in my lifetime there will never be a need to visit another similar memorial to man's intentional and industrial destruction of human life. I fear my hope is in vain.

Even though one might be prepared, have read the history books, watched the documentaries, the scale of this project and the remains that had not been destroyed before liberation make an impression that will last a lifetime.

On this day..... We must never forget, we must never allow this to be repeated. There is nothing more poignant than visiting this place in the icy blast of winter.
