In the next issue, Pete and Kitty take the whole team out to a pub and after downing some shots announce to all that they're dating. Everyone gets hammered and give their blessings to the happy couple. There's also this bit that sticks out:

To be clear, the change of heart about "Kitty's "coming of age" is not the part about Ellis letting the very Warren Ellisy Pete Wisdom character have sex with the "very nearly 18" Kitty Pryde, that went through. They changed their mind about her having her 18th birthday a few issues later.

Apologies for dumping this on people on a Sunday morning, but Warren Ellis's "now that I'm writing Excalibur, Kitty Pryde is gonna FUCK" interview has been a staple of FBB4L lore for years now. I found the original quote and it's worse than we remembered. (Hero Illustrated #25, July 1995)

Every once in awhile the Facebook Suggested Posts really hit it out of the ballpark. Thank you, all of my friends who like me never post on Facebook anymore, otherwise I never would have seen this.

RIP Keith Giffen. I started posting about comics on BBSs as "Ambush Bug" when I was 12. My first attempt at comics blogging was called Contempt of Comics. One of my first (and certainly one of my finest) original art purchases is pictured below. So formative, from JLI to every strange project since.

Lightning Comics is little remembered, though they did have some hilariously quaint policies back in the day:
- No reprints!
- No comic will ever have more than a quarter million copies printed, to retain their collectability.
- Exclusive contracts so no one can steal their artists
- Unique Origins!

Out of all of the early 1990s New Universe, I did not expect BLOODFIRE to get a thirtieth anniversary return.

Whoops, here is the fifth!
1. John & Yoko pictured, only John interviewed
2. "The President's Daughter"
3: Unnamed topless woman for a investigative piece on The Sensual Massage
4: A teaser about an unnamed Sally Struthers getting punched in the face
5: Another Beatle Wife not getting named

Five of the first ten Rolling Stone covers to feature a woman on the cover. It took them 153 issues to make it to ten women, but at least the other five covers named the woman.

Somehow a press release for a billion dollar publicly traded company in 2023 and not a direct to video fantasy-action film from the late 1990s

No idea what any of this means except:
The existence of Hotep Jesus implies the existence of a Hotep Judas.
The existence of Hotep Jesus implies the existence of Hotep Chris Jericho.

"Everyone knows wrestling is fake, but these new wrestlers these days are all dumb theater kids who do too many moves, back in my day they were tough men who could really fight!" - The New York Times, 1949
