Cute! I had an algorithms class in Python that was not great, another algorithms class in Java which was real interesting but because we hadn’t done Java first semester (miscommunication?), it was all conceptual, and an operating systems class that was half in assembly and it was super challenging

I did! I got a scholarship through OhioMeansJobs and did it in two years from Fall 2020 to Spring 2022, and even though it was a lot on top of hybrid and pandemic teaching, it took care of the last license renewal I’ll have before I retire! Too bad Ohio dropped the CS license requirement

This is a legitimate fear, I did my CS license courses all online and I’ve also wondered whether I signed up for a course and then just never logged in

That’s one of my favorite moments ever, I’m a high school science teacher who has to think quickly on my feet for 8 hours a day with teenagers who can literally say or ask you anything at any time, that was simply a perfect response

My son's mountain bike needs new brake pads and I've never replaced those before so I looked up the Amazon order to find the model number and noticed that we bought his bike in August 2022 for $227.99 (before tax). I looked up the same bike now and it's $473.92 just three years later. Insane.

I remember seeing the term "airborne AIDS" from an epidemiologist on Twitter sometime in late 2020 when I had already gone back to teaching in person, and as a Gen Xer hearing about AIDS all the time that really struck me as something we should be more worried about
