We stopped going to Bright Horizons after I realized they had shareholders. We found a Montessori that was cheaper and better cared for our kids. It’s still GD expensive.
I read the sentence "child care has become a market-based system captured, to an increasing degree, by private-equity firms, which now own eight of the 11 largest chains" and -- knowing how private equity firms operate -- the hair on the back of my neck stood up.
