Next up, our 15 year old chose these figures from my studio to be the subjects of this painting. All of these robots happen to be designed for war, suppression, or assassination.

Cantina Crew - acrylic on linen. One year ago I was commissioned to paint my take on these four iconic figures from the original Kenner Star Wars run. I wanted it to be like you were looking into a lunchbox full of figures, and the four favorites were most recently played with so they end up on top.

If I ever get famous, I need someone to tell me what show has the person dance down the hall while the crew is forced to sing at them like a birthday song at Applebees, so I can NEVER do it. I swear I can see tears in the eyes of the grimacing faces of the staff. I don’t think they’re alright.

The Outer Limits - 20”x16” acrylic on gessoed panel. One of my favorite paintings from last year. Using a a vintage rocket I bought from the comics store I went to in my hometown, and some vintage metal action figures to make a painting inspired by 60’s sci-fi b-movies.

Fishing Derby - 14”x11” acrylic on canvas - I’ve always wanted one of these drinking birds. It makes me way happier than I ever thought it would. It lives in my kitchen counter trying to eat some plastic fish from a little aquarium. Don’t worry though, their fortune say he can’t reach them.

I was just watching someone draw with charcoal and twice I tried to blow the charcoal dust off of the drawing through my phone screen. After the first time, I said to myself, "What the hell am i doing?", and then another piece of charcoal fell onto his page and I DID IT AGAIN.

A great way to end up eating six eggs for breakfast instead of two is to knock the carton on the floor to crack all the eggs still inside.
