Just watching the Dylan biopic ‘A Complete Unknown’ & listening to Timothee Chalamet singing ‘Blowing in the Wind ‘ & thinking for a song written in ‘62 how fecking little we’ve learned!

People coming in with the "stupid to be shocked by this bc 13th Amendment!" takes should consider that prisoner for most of recent history, have at least received *basic due process* and that this is, in fact, not something we've seen since the end of Jim Crow.

My quote for The Canary about Rachel Reeves’ spending review 👇. The 3% she has announced is *lower* than the average annual increase in funding for the NHS. It’s not good enough 🚨

The populist far-right just came in joint second place at yesterday's parliamentary elections in Portugal, their most popular result ever since the country became a democracy. Never been more ashamed - a country of emigrants giving so much power to an anti-immigrant, xenophobic party. Dark days.

After 10 years campaigning for the NHS (I know), I have realised 3 things:

1. Millions of people are unhappy with what politicians are doing to the NHS.
2. The media are mostly complicit with what they’re doing.
3. The only way we’ll fix this now is by building a mass movement.

Who’s in? 💙
