Any excess energy should be used by local grids. Business with high energy needs could be established in these areas which would provide employment for local people. What’s not to like?
Why are Scots pandering to the needs of other countries when we should be providing for own ?
Applecross has waited ten years for a decent electricity grid (responsibility of WM, Ofgem & SSE) which means their community hydro has been working at half tilt. Upgrade is finally approved. But why have communities been made to wait? Gordon Cameron of Applecross Community Co. youtu.be/J0kUgdms368

We can arrange talks for anyone who wants one for their group or area. Growing numbers of people need and want to know how their future in an independent Scotland is built and secured. Great opportunity to ask burning questions.
In Oban to give a talk in the Sadie Hall for the @scg1.bsky.social.
Lunch in Ee-usk then 90 minutes of intense discussion.
Thanks to Graham MacQueen, Kathryn Wilkie and Derek Pretswell for organising.
Surprised by the high turnout.

Here is the latest paper from Professor Allyson Pollock on how outsourcing elective surgery is shrinking the NHS and increasing waiting times.

Private provision forcing longer wait for NHS hip and knee replacement
A study of NHS-funded hip and knee replacement operations has found fewer surgical admissions within NHS hospitals and rising waiting times even as NHS contracts with private providers have expanded.
