that `unaff_A6 + 0xc` is the slot in the parent frame for status_ret. I know pascal was used for at least _some_ portion of the kernel, and my hypothesis is that flp_$error_chk is an nested function.

FLOP_$BOOT starts with `link A6,-0x34`. It calls flp_$mount which also starts with a `link` instruction, but then it calls flp_$error_chk which doesn't
