"No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice"
In this perspective, I think about how Trump's presidency might push us to better understand politics in the policy process.

As always, it was great to work with the reviewers who gave me truly helpful comments that changed how I thought (and wrote) about these issues.

Also, thanks to PSJ!

As @breunig.bsky.social and I find in our book "Means, Motives, and Opportunities: How Executives and Interest Groups Set Public Policy", Parks and Natural Resources budgets at the state level are particularly vulnerable to strong executive actions. Seems so, too, in federal budgeting.

I mean...they do know how Congress works, right? It just takes a simple majority to pass a spending bill on the House (or any bill, if they are reading this), which they have.
Per Politico's Meredith Lee Hill: Speaker Johnson just now said Dem leader Jeffries “seemed to be trying to set up some sort of a government shutdown”

“We have been negotiating in good faith, trying to get a topline number. But so far as I know, they’ve been unresponsive the past two days or so."

While the pose is meme-worthy, I couldn't help but notice the fit (or over fit) of Schumer's suit.

Cuffs look okay, but pants look too long?

As a federal employee, did Trump also get the "Fork in the Road" email?

So...is Pete Buttigieg going to go full Obama and serve in the Senate for two years before becoming president?

A student sent me an email reporting back on a bbq place I visited 20 years ago, found another place, and also told me she got into a masters program.

I've never felt more successful as a teacher.

I'm not sure that I've ever met a McKinley fan, but boy Trump seems to like the guy.

I guess we'll all become McKinley fans as Trump's inflationary trade policies popularize the $500 bill.

I still can’t get over the fact that three presidents were born not only in the same year but the same summer. Literally the first baby boomers, as the baby boom started about 9 months after the end of World War II.

Trump: June 14, 1946
Bush: July 6, 1946
Clinton: August 19, 1946

Searched Victoria Spartz's page today and found this...well-crafted...picture accompanying a press release about the national debt. Then I thought about all the newsletters @dcinbox.bsky.social gets to read along with many quality images.
