Here’s the thing about passive aggressive emails sent to the entire faculty and staff:

1. They cause people doing the right thing to ask themselves what they did wrong.

2. The people they’re intended for don’t read them.

I did not watch the address to the joint session of Congress—why voluntarily subject myself to hours of lies and nonsense? Instead, I listened to The Cure’s Songs of a Lost World.

One was full of doom, despair, and existential dread… the other was a great album.

Today is a really good day to do something. Read the Constitution. Have a talk with a stranger about DOGE. Volunteer at a food bank. Be kind to people. Whatever you do, don’t just throw your hands up in the air & assume Trump gets away with it all. We are still a rule of law country. Insist on it.

This is so disturbing.
Congress shall make no law… abridging the right to free speech. 1st Amendment, United States Constitution.

Apparently Kootenai Co. Sheriff Noriss doesn’t think that applies to him, nor does he respect the Constitution, nor the Constitutional rights of Idaho Citizens.

I couldn’t be more proud to be a plaintiff in this suit, along with @malindalo.bsky.social, David Levithan, a coalition of publishers including @penguinrandomhouse.bsky.social, and Idaho librarians, parents, and students, as we fight against Idaho's book banning law, HB 710.
BREAKING: Major publishers, alongside the Authors Guide, bestselling authors, and others, have filed a lawsuit against Idaho's draconian book ban bill, claiming First and Fourteenth Amendment violations.

A while back I asked folks why they’re joining Bluesky and the most common response I saw was, “I just want a good place to get my news” and, yall, no. Bad.

I’d love to say I’m not shopping at Target because they are rolling back DEI initiatives. The truth is I’ve already pretty much stopped because they haven’t had much I wanted to buy since Covid. The days of going in for one thing and coming out with a full cart were already long gone.

First Bluesky post to admit a horrible secret from my past. My nearly 17 year old just found the letter they wrote to DanTDM that I promised to mail almost a decade ago, but forgot and then hid. At least Dan is now off the hook for not writing back.
