5 endangered red wolves arrive in New Jersey to boost survival efforts
Five critically endangered red wolves have just landed in New Jersey as part of a rare “wolf swap” program aimed at saving the species. With only 16 left in the wild, the wolves traveled from North Carolina to the Wolf Conservation Center, where experts hope they’ll breed and help restore a healthy ecosystem. FOX 5 NY's Teresa Priolo has the details.

A wolf caught on camera in BC was seen using a tool to open a crab trap, potentially the first documented instance of a wild wolf using a tool!🐺

Wolves are already known for their intelligence, but seeing this level of planning and precision in action is truly remarkable.

Welcome to the world, Mica – our newest Voi grandson! Mweya led her ex-orphan herd back to the stockades after an eight-month absence, with great pomp and ceremony. The reason for all the fanfare? Mbirikani had given birth to a beautiful little boy!

It’s a girl! Yesterday, 25-year-old Nasalot returned to Ithumba with her family — which included a notable new addition! Nala, as we named her, is Nasalot’s first daughter. We have no doubt Nala will be able to hold her own among big brothers Nusu and Noah.

It’s a bird… it’s a plane… it’s Super-Kipekee! Her bright blue 'cape' is as practical as it is stylish: Newly orphaned calves arrive cold, traumatised, and desperately missing their mothers' warmth. A soft blanket becomes their security – physical comfort that says "you're safe, you're not alone."

They are living, thinking, feeling beings

And they deserve our respect, even if we haven't earned theirs.

“Be my peace"
You've got enough pain
give me
all your sufferings
all the hurts you carried through
give all such stones on my palms
I've learnt how to throw'em
Into the lake of time
take all;
flowers
colours
fragrance
smiles
and peace I've
It's all for you...

62 wolves have been killed in Montana since hunting season opened. Killing wolves is neither supported by science nor ethics, yet it becomes a reality when wolves lose federal ESA protections.

As the numbers climb, how many more wolves will be lost without reason?

In Canada, the Indian Act prohibited powwows and other cultural expressions between 1876 and 1951. Indigenous communities kept their traditions alive in secret, and modern powwows are a powerful symbol of their survival and resistance.

The rains are starting to arrive so what better way to celebrate than with a #throwback to this swimming lesson enjoyed by Muridjo, Mzinga, Nyambeni, and Pardamat. Because when the rains finally arrive in Kenya, there's only one appropriate response: dive in headfirst and worry about dignity later.
