I make shoegaze-adjacent music! I like to cook food but take terrible pictures of it. I was Chore Daddy on the other site.
Blue Prince is incredible, so much fun. It has me taking notes in multiple formats (screenshots folder, text notes, spreadsheet for my timeline and stuff) and LOVIN IT. Sometimes I'll have fun not even playing the game, just organizing and studying my notes, lol

If your definition of working class excludes teachers you're supporting the same right wing narrative that says baristas are the Elite and car dealership owners are working class

100%, people only ever hear "due process" in the context of criminal prosecution, so to them it means "something that happens to you after you commit a crime"

I'm a big fan of the one that's like, a-heh a-heh a-WAAH! Like it takes them a few tries to get the ol cry engine running

They're everywhere but they're invisible to most. I was a reference librarian during the great recession, so I could see the ripple effect over years. I worry the effects from this motherfucking DOGE bullshit will be so much bigger and longer lasting, and we'll be so much less equipped to handle.

end up at the library, because that's the only place in America where you can consistently go for help with that shit! Once you've spent all day showing an 80-year-old guy how to use a computer mouse so he can get an email so he can register to keep receiving the pittance he relies on to live...

Every time there are state or federal cuts to various services or benefits, or even just process changes like requiring online registration instead of a phone or office option, some # of people fall through the cracks. And all of those people who fell through the cracks...

...our summer FEEDING programs, where the kids whose only meals during the school year are the ones they get at school, can at least get one meal a day through the library, a million other things. This will all be terrible. But the other big effect is downstream of all the OTHER cuts.

...grants for library renovations, new bookmobiles, wifi hotspots for the surprisingly large swaths of rural america that literally cannot obtain broadband internet any other way, summer reading programs...

Instead, the IMLS cuts just make everything a little shittier. They fund our research databases that make it possible to find real, factual, historical information that is literally not available anywhere on the enshittified web. They fund scholarships for library master's programs...

It also puts him in this position where the continued, extreme overvaluation of his companies depends on him maintaining the idea that he's some unique genius, and the longer he has to maintain that facade, the more miserable he must be! So that's a little comforting.

Do it!!!! However I'm also a fanny pack guy so we can't be seen in public together. The power of that much accessible storage in one location would be simply overwhelming

God I hate thinking about this guy

Musk is the opposite. He can't be curious bc that would mean admitting he didn't already know something. I think his whole "genius entrepreneur" shtick is primarily for marketing and $$, but I think it's also to compensate for his obvious deep insecurity

I think about this tweet all the time too! I've also gotten to work with some actual "genius" people and the common denominator is curiosity. They're not threatened by admitting what they don't know, and they're intellectually secure enough to not have to constantly broadcast how smart they are.
