Interestingly, two of the candidates (Green Party) @chloeloureilly.bsky.social and independent Cath Davis) include support for a referendum to scrap the North Tyneside mayoral system as a manifesto pledge, rightly in my view.

Absolutely, I was appalled at his lack of response and sidestepping. Myself and the majority of Green Party members stand firmly with our trans sisters, brothers and nonbinary babes! It is within our party manifesto to recognise gender beyond the sex binary and advocate for trans rights 💚
