The irony is the revolution against technocrats will end with officials running the councils because Reform councillors will have no idea what to do + many don't even want to be doing it.

I just voted for @chloeloureilly.bsky.social for North Tyneside mayor. I just can't bring myself to vote Labour any more - their economic illiteracy, their attacks on disabled people, and their transphobia are all too much

Interestingly, two of the candidates (Green Party) @chloeloureilly.bsky.social and independent Cath Davis) include support for a referendum to scrap the North Tyneside mayoral system as a manifesto pledge, rightly in my view.
