The EU chemical regulation policy is very far from perfect. The European Environmental Bureau highlights it takes weeks to get a chemical registered for use in Europe, then decades to fully safety check that chemical. But the UK is falling behind even that.

The EU has banned BPA and other harmful bisphenols in certain food contact materials.
