It's the time piece I want to focus on. The key thing about the benefits of a clean energy system is that, once we've transitioned, *we will enjoy those benefits for the rest of our time on earth*. Every subsequent generation of humans will enjoy the benefits. They will accumulate & accumulate.

Awful to hear of these deaths. It’s horrendous to me that one needs to worry not only about actual antisemitism but how governments could use this as a license for wrongdoing.

Turns out that building a dedicated audience and relying on it for support was the way to go. It's not necessarily an easy path either, but at least there's alignment, with a core set of folks helping to pay for the actual journalism being produced.

I remember countless conversations with VC types & business-school grads wondering why @grist chose to be, and remain, a nonprofit, and why it wasn't rolling in easy money, starting in the dotcom era through all of Buzzfeed's chapters.

I remember countless conversations with VC types & business-school grads wondering why @grist chose to be, and remain, a nonprofit, and why it wasn't rolling in easy money, starting in the dotcom era through all of Buzzfeed's chapters.
As the US forfeits leadership on climate (and essentially all else), it's important to remember the role that federally funded science played in identifying the very challenge of climate climate.
