It's an aisle with neon signs and small restaurants, almost all from Latin America. Chilis, spices, candy, sweets, tostadas, tacos, and fresh bananas are clearly visible.

I was at the #nokings protest in Santa Monica, CA.

It's definitely plastic. And seams. There is pink at the top, a blue L toward the bottom, and a green and brown swirl toward the lower right. After a while, it might or might not resolve to the inside of a cheap inflatable costume with absolutely no vision.

The science library at USC has a small display devoted to Dungeons and Dragons. They included this poster.
D&D Players Rules Never split the party. DM is God and DM is always right. Do not argue with the DM. Always check for traps. If the DM asks: Are you sure? DON'T DO THE THING. REST. You don't know what's out there. Never plot out loud. God is listening and taking notes. The skeleton always animates. If something is too good to be true, it usually is. Write that down. You won't remember that later. But the DM will. Tricky lock? Ask the barbarian to open it. Anything is a weapon if you roll high enough. Loot everything. Never draw the card. If the item is smarter than you are, it has an agenda. The dragon is never your friend. Don't get on the boat. The DM has hordes of nautical beasties that they have never been able to use. PROTECT THE HEALER. Talk to people. You never know what you don't know. Bring enough to share.

Okay. My meals in Koreatown haven't been challenging enough. Here's today's lunch menu.

I am at a Korean restaurant in Los Angeles' Koreatown.

I had problems reading the menu on the walls. This is what they provided for translation help.

The meal will either be amazing or terrible.
There are 12 items on the menu. They each have a picture, a number, the name in Korean, the name in Mandarin, and a transliteration of the Korean name. For example, number 5 is sokkoli gomtang. The soup that I ordered. It is oxtail stew. I have learned that Korean soup requires extra salt and a lot of green onion to taste correct. But it looks good!

The pen, fully-assembled. It has a very unusual back end that tapers almost to a point. The pen, disassembled. I think this photo will be the most useful for identifying the pen. The word "Parker" on the cap of the pen. My camera's focus wasn't good, but you can barely see the "M" on the back of the nib.
