I remember european GPs asking the American GP to endorse Harris and I tended to agree with them given the circumstances. But now in hindsight, even if Harris got every single Stein vote she would have still lost sadly

As in some Republican donors/PACs strategically backed them in specific close races, or as a nationwide party they were bankrolled by Republicans? Cuz I know for instance David Steinglass did the former on behalf of D’s with the America First party in WI, but I wouldn’t say democrats support the AFP

Wait…what? I mean I get the campist take that voting green helped Trump by taking away a D vote, and i agree with that take from a realpolitik perspective. But I don’t think that makes the Green Party MAGA… unless there’s something I’m missing?

Theres something to be said about the human id in the absence of a daily fight for survival. People need an outlet for the elements of the mind evolved for intraspecific conflict. Some people have sports fandom , others kickboxing, and some get unhealthily obsessed with the lives of online strangers

For the record, you could have all of that personal growth and development by adopting any of the countess needy children in the world as well. (Which is what I and my partner will do, for the record).

When dealing with individuals you can talk about these anecdotal decisions. When dealing with populations in the billions you have to decide how to direct policy and incentives, and how society is structured. The very highest estimates of sustainable global pop is around 10B (lower end around 1B)

I’m not sure about the legal component, but wrt wildfires, hurricanes, and tornadoes in totality, PA and NY are among the lowest risk states
