I’m not sure about the legal component, but wrt wildfires, hurricanes, and tornadoes in totality, PA and NY are among the lowest risk states

For the past 200 years we have been extracting more than has been replenished. We have extirpated and destroyed more populations than prior mass extinctions could over tens of thousands of years. This can’t go on forever, there is such a thing as ecosystem collapse

You can have a trillion lottery tickets, none could restore an extinct species, recreate an old growth forest or undo the depletion of the biosphere. Some things are irreversible.

This has all happened in essentially a century, an evolutionary eye-blink.

We are on track for 10.4 billion by end of century. The Anthropocene has already caused untold damage to the biosphere and we are on pace to lose a quarter (!) of all natural habitats on earth in that same time. We don’t need to contribute more to the problem. Want kids? Adopt, theres plenty in need
