When you strip away humanity
I guess that is something we forget, we are unfinished. We need to keep working on making this country one we can all be proud of.
America is beautiful, contradictory, unfinished. I am proud of our country even as we constantly strive to make it better, to protect and deepen our democracy, to fulfill its promise for each and every person who calls it home.

I guess that is something we forget, we are unfinished. We need to keep working on making this country one we can all be proud of.
Yesterday I got to have the experience that I never knew I’d been waiting for. Holding my arms out in my sister’s pool, dragonflies repeatedly rested on my hands. We rescued 4 from the pool. I had the pleasure of watching while one sat on my hand until its wings were dry enough to take flight. 💕

Blowing off steam with my sister, talking about the Big BS Bill. I think one of the objects is working towards replacing immigrant/migrant workers with a homegrown poverty level slave population. People with no choices to do the labor for the rich.

I remember the threat of “weapons of mass destruction”. I’ve also lived long enough to find out that that was all a lie. I’m sitting here this morning, listening to more lies. Worrying about my children and the children of others all over the world. Come on Dems, get the guts to stop this.

Both of my kids and their partners have bought houses recently. They all work in industries that will be affected by this administration’s policies. I’m hoping they can keep their houses with what’s ahead of us. I’m so proud of them and so afraid for them at the same time.

I was born in 1962. I remember a school assignment asking us to think about where we would go if a bomb dropped on us.
We knew Russians were afraid of knocks on their doors at night, KGB disappeared people. I thought I would never see that in the USA. I was wrong.
