Chiefs Insider+

I never reveal sources because my brother in law Brett Veach said not to. Aspiring humorist & hard-core Chiefs optimist. Fro-yo savant. I love my family.
Wish me luck, I’ve been left to guard the purse while my wife goes to the powder room, and a few of the MFs in here have been eyeing it up like they may take a shot.

I read that if a cat “slow blinks” at you it means they love you and that no one knows what “no blinking” means because all the researchers died in the process of trying to find that out.

Spent hours today hanging pictures & setting up Chiefs lights & displays. This is my home office, where I pretty much don’t get anything done except sitting around thinking about the Chiefs & fist-bumping myself for the courage to spend all my retirement money on Chiefs stuff.

Expired Williams Sonoma peppermint bark on sale at a massive discount? Hell yes, if I’m going to die today I can’t think of a better way to go.

Just so everyone knows, LIVie is actually a sweet, loving cat. She only bites me. My wife said cats have an innate sense of who “has it coming.”

Mark my words, banning the nose wipe celebration is the beginning of the end for the NFL—No Fun League. (Many of my friends who are Bloods have already cancelled their Sunday Ticket subscription, suck on that Goodell!).

Took this at Arrowhead after Chiefs beat Colts in the 2018 divisional round. Colts, for decades, had haunted us like demons. Patrick performed an exorcism that night. Yeah, we lost the next weekend, but the shift was undeniable. Something was different. Chiefs were on their way.

I love thinking about Chiefs beating Indy in the 2018 div round. Everything was new, fresh. We appreciated Chiefs in a way that we’ve started to lose—we’re so used to winning that now it’s just “meeting an expectation” more than bringing joy. How can we get back to that pure joy?

“Day 2 of me asking why daddy replaced my beloved rickety old crappy cat tree with a goddam expensive brand-new amazing five foot tall cat tree that daddy stayed up all night building.”

The most helpless feeling in the world is when you hear your cat retching in the next room and there’s not a damn thing you can do about it except hope someone else volunteers to clean it up.

Veach told me at our weekly breakfast meeting that he’s completely exhausted, he evaluates FAs & negotiates contracts all day, then stays up all night combing through social media to get a feel for what fans want him to do. Hardest working GM in football.
March 12, 2025 at 4:32 PM
I don’t envy Veach. Has the nearly impossible job of keeping roster young, managing cap, ensuring we’re always competitive. Keeping enough experience while injecting enough youth. Retaining vets who COST but creating openings for talented youngsters on rookie deals. A Rubix cube.
March 12, 2025 at 3:38 PM
Veach gets us a competent young LT, bolsters defense w/ a 3rd competent CB to join McDuffie & Watson, keeps our general on defense, adds speed at RB, re-signs Hollywood. Maybe not even done with free agency, & now has the draft to get more at RB and d-line. MF is COOKING.🔥🔥🔥

I’m working from home and it’s safe to say this box of peppermint bark is going to go through some stuff today.
March 5, 2025 at 6:14 PM
Score! And on sale at huge discount.
March 2, 2025 at 8:07 PM
If we have some extra time today we might go shopping to get another toy for our cat to reject.

I’m so sad. This bit of peppermint bark is my last link to a season I call…Christmas season. Alas, I also listened to my last Christmas song today. Time to put such things behind me as I begin the long wait for my Christmas season to begin anew, sometime in September probably.

Homemade pulled pork sliders and baked beans. Hopefully this helps take the edge off.

I for one think it is very sweet that Nike is finally throwing a bone to those of us who own baby kangaroos.

Skeletor and Skeletor Jr. are locked in. LET’S ROCK!!!

Beating Philly won’t be easy, but I’m encouraged by Pat’s performance in SB 57. Beat Eagles with Travis, JuJu, Watson, McKinnon as leading pass catchers. Now? Xavier, Hollywood, DHop (+ Travis & JuJu & Gray). Chiefs light it up. Best way to counter Saquon is score early & often.

Fresh Special K bars for the playoffs baby! 3-peat incoming!

Saw post from a Ravens fan pleading w/ the Flock to attend Ravens v Steelers WC game, one Ravens fan replied that it was going to be too cold. It’ll be 33° for that game. Here is Arrowhead for Chiefs/Dolphins, the 4th coldest game in NFL history at -4°, with -27° wind chill.

I am sad the holidays are over, and I’m going to miss my Chiefs Christmas tree after I take it down this April.
