Right wing influencers are livid over rumors newly elected Mayor Zohram Mamdani will force the New York school system to teach children Arabic Numerals. Many of these influencers are calling for him to be denaturaalized over the Islamification of school kids. Some examples of Arabic Numerals? 1,2,3

The US Government has said in its appeal to fund SNAP benefits that doing so would be more harmful to the government than the millions of people that would go hungry.

A good friend said “Snap recipients should just get a job!” This was after he told me he was receiving government funded health care, unemployed benefits and his disabled daughter was enrolled for free in a highly specialized expensive school. Am I missing something or is he?

According to The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities the Trump Administration has the legal right to move funds around to be sure SNAP and wic benefits are funded. These benefits have been paid in all other Government shutdowns while both Republicans and Democrats have been in power.

The "Big Beautiful Bill" could save large corporations like Alphabet, Amazon, and Meta billions in tax benefits, with Morgan Stanley projecting a collective $49.5 billion boost to free cash flow in 2025 for these three companies alone. But at least the average Joe gets ……..?

I’m confused. The House of Representatives has not been in session all of October due to shutdown. They are still being paid though. They have nothing else to do other than the shutdown to make life better for their constituents?

It seems to me sending an aircraft carrier to the Caribbean for 18’ drug boats is not reality. Sending a message - or preparing for military action against Venezuela seems more logical.

To re-enter the US from international travel I’ll be deleting all my social media due to worries they will go thru my accounts. As a US citizen if I’m worried hard to imagine what fears others endure because of current political realities.

Very Happy to see peace deal signed for Gaza. Too late for tens of thousands of innocent victims and the widespread destruction of their homes. For what? Shame on Hamas for starting war and Israel for their brutal response.
